Day 1 - Arrival!

Day 2 – Giza Pyramids & Step Pyramids of Sakkara
From the hotel you will first travel to the monumental Pyramids of Giza, one of the original seven Wonders of the World. The enormity and beauty of the pyramids will wow you. Take pictures, explore the pyramid complex, and learn about their history. Your personal Egyptoria Egyptologist will be there to make sure any questions you have are answered. The only worry you may have, is making sure there is enough storage on your device for all your photos.
Want to spend more time appreciating the pyramids? Don’t worry, we aren’t done with the Pyramids at Giza yet. Your time at the pyramids continues at one of our favorite restaurants nearby. Enjoy a traditional meal and make sure to drink plenty of water.
From the Pyramids of Giza, you will travel to the Step Pyramids of Sakkara another historic and unique set of pyramids that only Egypt can offer. Your trip back in time continues as you learn about the building of the step pyramids and their historic significance. What you imagine while you’re there is completely up to you.

Day 3 – Alexandria
We have set aside a full day tour of Alexandria for you. The most ‘modern’ of the ancient cities, you are sure to witness some amazing architectural feats, amazing ruins, and the integration of Greco-Roman influence into Egyptian culture. There is so much to see and so little time so come ready to explore and learn.
The tour includes visits to:
Pompey’s Pillar, a beautiful 25-meter-high pillar, which is an essential stop on a tour of Ancient Egypt. This pillar was built to honor Emperor Diocletian in AD 297. Touted as the ‘newest’ of the ancient places to visit, this is a great place to explore.
Our next spot is a testimony to the Egyptian belief in honoring their dead. As we tour the Catacombs, you can easily spot the Greco-Roman influence throughout the necropolis. You will walk down a spiral staircase to view these tombs, where over 300 mummies were buried.
Your next stop is the New Library of Alexandria, a modern library located near the Mediterranean Sea is a fusion between appreciating modern art and culture and commemorating the original Library of Alexandria which was destroyed.
Finally, you will visit an icon of the Hellenistic age, a Roman Theater. This ancient theater that is sure to amaze you. The theater has 23 semi-circle tiers made out of marble and is quite an architectural feat. When you return to your hotel you will be ready to rest and recharge to look forward to your next day’s adventure.

Day 4 - Suez Canal
Today’s tour is another once-in-a-lifetime experience, straight out of the history books. This canal is man-made and connects the Red Sea and the Mediterranean Sea. This is one of the world’s most vital shipping lanes.
Your full day tour includes visiting the canal and taking a ferry across the canal. Additionally you will get to see Tabet Al Shagara, an abandoned Israeli bunker located in Sinai near the Suez Canal. You will also see Unknown Soldier Memorial. These stops will bring you out of ancient history and into a more modern time in Egyptian history.
After such an amazing day of sight-seeing make sure you hydrate at night before the last day of sightseeing.

Day 5 - Museum and Old Cairo
Before heading home, you will visit the Egyptian Museum and Old Cairo. The first stop on our agenda is the Egyptian Museum. The hub for viewing ancient artifacts in Egypt, this is a great place to view and learn all about ancient Egypt.
Now that we are back in Cairo, we will spend the last day visiting some local ancient attractions. The first stop on our agenda is the Egyptian Museum. With over 120,000 ancient artifacts for you to see this museum is an essential stop in Egypt. You will be amazed at how much you learned on your treks with Egyptoria. Seeing the museum after visiting gives you the time to put everywhere you went into perspective along the timeline of history.
The next stop will take you to an area where there are several Coptic Orthodox Churches in the area. Your Egyptologist will provide you with all of the fascinating information as you enjoy the ancient beauty of some of the oldest Churches in Cairo. You will visit the Hanging Church, Saint Sergius and Saint Bacchus Coptic Orthodox Churches, and the Ben Ezra Synagogue.
The last stop of the day is the Mosque of Muhammad Ali. You will see this stunning structure that acts as the cornerstone of Cairo and is visible when you enter the city from almost any side. A historic religious monument as well as a tourist stop, the Mosque of Muhammad Ali is rich with history and culture.

Day 6 -Departure!
After five wonderful days exploring Cairo, Giza, Alexandria, and the Suez Canal it’s time to head home. You will depart for the airport in an airconditioned vehicle as you say your last goodbye to your amazing week in Egypt.
