Itinerary

When you arrive at Cairo International Airport, one of our representatives will be ready and waiting to escort you to your hotel. Our Egyptoria ambassador will be with you every step of the way, from navigating you through the airport to driving you in an airconditioned van to your 5-star accommodations.

From the hotel you will first travel to the monumental Pyramids of Giza, one of the original seven Wonders of the World. The enormity and beauty of the pyramids will wow you. Take pictures, explore the pyramid complex, and learn about their history. Your personal Egyptoria Egyptologist will be there to make sure any questions you have are answered. The only worry you may have, is making sure there is enough storage on your device for all your photos.

Want to spend more time appreciating the pyramids? Don’t worry, we aren’t done with the Pyramids at Giza yet. Your time at the pyramids continues at one of our favorite restaurants nearby. Enjoy a traditional meal and make sure to drink plenty of water.

From the Pyramids of Giza, you will travel to the Step Pyramids of Sakkara another historic and unique set of pyramids that only Egypt can offer. Your trip back in time continues as you learn about the building of the step pyramids and their historic significance. What you imagine while you’re there is completely up to you.

The rest of the afternoon and evening are yours to explore the area. Visit the garden district, or enjoy a night out at one of the fabulous restaurants at neighboring hotels. Your Egyptoria is your personal concierge to ensure you have a night to remember.

Want to relax by the pool or have dinner in after a full day of living through history? Enjoy your evening. Make sure to get plenty of rest and hydration because Day Three will be just as exciting as today!

You will hop on a quick 90-minute flight to Aswan where an Egyptologist will meet you and take you on your tour of the city.

The first stop is Philae Temple, an ancient complex central to the ancient religious world and a favorite topic and location for ancient writers. For the second stop, you will visit the Aswan High Dam, a massive dam across the Nile River that was pivotal in the industrialization of Egypt.

After that you will check into your hotel.
Meal: Breakfast

Get ready for an early morning departure as your Egyptologist guide will pick you up from your hotel before the sun rises to travel to Abu Simbel. This site contains two temples, the Temple of Ramses II and The Temple of Queen Nefertari, also known as Hathor’s Temple. The enormous sandstone statues that make up the front of Ramses II Temple were built to convey the power of Ramses II. Twice a year, in October and February, a solar alignment occurs where the statues in the back of Ramses II’s Temple are illuminated by the sun. Located on the bank of Lake Nasser, these temples were dismantled and moved to higher ground in the 1960’s as the High Dam that was being planned would have flooded them. Following your time at Abu Simbel you will be returned to your hotel.
Meal: Breakfast

Drive to Komombo Temple - 2 Hours
Kom Ombo is a unique and somewhat uncommon double temple. One half of the temple is dedicated to the crocodile god, Sobek, who represents fertility amongst other things. The other half of there temple is dedicated to the falcon god, Horus. Kom Ombo is also a great temple to see the Nilometer at.

Drive to Edfu Temple - 2 Hours
Temple was built to honor Horus, the falcon god, the same god one half of the Kom Ombo Temple is dedicated to. One of the unique parts of this temple is how important the inscriptions are. Located on the West Bank of the Nile River, you will tour the area where for over 500 years pharaohs and nobles were laid to rest.

The Hatshepsut Temple is another great stop on this long day of sightseeing. Though the cliffs at Deir el Bahari seem to dwarf this stunning temple, its size will amaze you. Located near the Valley of the Kings, this temple was used as a mortuary temple with which to honor Pharaoh Hatshepsut after whom it was built.

The Colossi of Memnon are a set of massive statues set on a stunning backdrop of Egyptian terrain. These columnal statues were built in resemblance of Pharaoh Amenhotep III. While time has taken its toll on the Colossi of Memnon, they remain an iconic tourist location and give a peek into the ancient world.
